Course Syllabus
Welcome to Contemporary World Issues! This semester we will engage in wide ranging discussions about the ever-changing political, social, and economic landscape of the world, as well as how the United States “fits” into this landscape. Students should be prepared for daily engagement with current events and have a healthy respect for professional disagreement and controversial discussion among their peers. This is the study of international, national, and local issues through a lens that allows for respect and recognition of diversity. The issues of cultural ethnicity, sexism, discrimination, and global diversity are examined in economic sociological political and civic contexts.
Course Objectives
Following the completion of this course, students will be able to:
